Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore watches at home, then gives me a call

Mattilda and I share a deep commitment to many things: AIDS, writing, walking, phones, protests. I met her in person last year when she was on tour in NY for her stunning recent book, Touching the Art and I went to a reading. Her voice! I had read her previous work, and was already a fan. We walked together in NYC and talked and became friends.

She asked to see Please Hold at home from Seattle, and you can watch from home as well! You, too, can order a link to the video here.

These are her candid and personal responses intended only for me to hear, but she kindly allowed me to let you listen in too …

First voice mail: Mattilda “holds [laughs] everything in it.”
Part 2: On Elizabeth Koke in the Parkside.
Part 3: one of my media is “voice mail,” and thoughts about Chloe Dzubilo.
Part 4: The last one. On the point of talking and the thoughts of Ted Kerr.
